Terminator: Salvation Review

Thanks for checking out my Terminator: Salvation review. First off, to Movie Crazy Guy, (Skyler), this movie is not that violent and is okay for us thirteen year old. You can handle it, because there is almost no blood and is generally fine. So you should see it. Second of all, Terminator 2: Judgement Day is one of my favorite movies of all time (edited version, of course), so I was really excited to see this 4th installment.
The Good: The special effects are absolutely excellent. These effects make the terminators and explosions look real, and the people should actually get an Oscar nomination. Yeah, that good.
The action is out of this world. No shaky camera, no confusing punching or shooting, just about perfect action sequences. By the way, I think there are at least 25 explosions in this movie, so does that prove it is action-packed?
I really think Sam Worthington was great as Marcus Wright, which is just about the main character in this movie, next to John Connor. He played this part very well, and he will become a great movie star. Same with Anton Yelchin, who played Kyle Reese as a teenager. He's John Connor's father, as we know from the first Terminator movie.
The Terminators are believable and almost unstoppable. They are great villians and hope to see them again in the future.
The Bad: The story is actually very confusing at the beginning. It becomes less confusing by the end, but still had me scratching my head. They just didn't explain it very well.
You didn't even get to know John Connor very well in this. He almost seemed like a secondary character to me, even though he's supposed to be the main one.
This movie did not have very good character development. You don't get to know about 3/4ths of any of the characters.
Overall: Despite some minor bad things, Terminator: Salvation is a fantastic summer movie that is worth checking out. Not as good as Terminator 2, but a really great movie with about perfect action and effects, and good heart. If you come to see a movie with great and big action sequences, effects, and explosions, Terminator: Salvation will amaze you and blow you away. 9/10.

Movies I Will Definitely See and Maybe See This Summer

MBJ here. I just wanted to tell you the movies I plan to see this summer. Here are the definites. (Ones I will definitely see.) And after these will be the ones that I'll maybe see. Click on links to go to website.

Terminator: Salvation
Why I Will Definitely See It: Terminator 2: Judgement is one of my favorite movies of all-time (edited on TV). Terminator 3 was good, and the first one was great. So I'm very excited that Terminator 4 is PG-13 and looks really good.

Up

Why I Will Definitely See It: Hello? PIXAR is the answer. Tons of great movies and this one looks great and hilarious.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Why I Will Definitely See It: Transformers was fantastic, and Megatron and more evil alien robots are back with a vengeance. Looks great!

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Why I Will Definitely See It: The Harry Potter series is legendary, and I loved the book for this part of the series. Harry Potter, here I come!

G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra

Why I Will Definitely See It: I've said this before and I'll say it again; I've wanted to see this movie after the super bowl commercial. Stephen Summers (who directed the Mummy and Van Helsing) is a great director, and this looks like a great movie.

Here are the movies I will maybe see that I'm not AS excited for.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs

Why I Will Maybe See It: This movie does not looks as good as the other two (Dinosaurs? Weren't there humans in the first Ice Age movie?). But I really like the Ice Age series, so I will maybe see this.

Year One

Why I Will Maybe See It: This director directed Groundhog Day, which I love, but this movie doesn't look very funny from the trailers. But, I could be wrong.

Why I Will Maybe See It: This movie looks actually unfunny, but I like Will Ferrell and I'll give him a shot at this movie.
All the other movies I will never see, probably see on TV (R-rated ones), rent on DVD, or unlikely buy on DVD. Thanks for listening.

Star Trek Review

Thanks for checking out my long-awaited review of Star Trek.
The Good: I've never seen any of the Star Trek tv shows, movies, etc, but this movie has an excellent story that starts at the beginning to help me understand it. So, there's a great story, and there is...
The Action: Surprisingly, I liked the action scenes better than the hand-to-hand fight scenes. The action scenes in space are great and spectacular. The hand-to-hand combat is actually pretty shaky, but still good. Oh, and there's tons and tons of action in this. Even more than X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Bravo!
The Characters: These characters are brilliant and memorable. Spock (Zachary Quinto) is my favorite, because he has a heart, is brilliant in hand-to-hand combat, and just is a fantastic character.
The Special Effects: Besides the characters, the special effects in this are the best part in this movie. They are amazingly realistic, and just brilliant.
The Bad: The bad guy in this (Eric Bana) didn't really have a motivation. He was evil, but didn't have anything to drive him. This bugged me quite a bit.
There are some pointless action sequences in this. One, in the beginning, there's James T. Kirk as a kid riding in a car in top speed. That had nothing to do with anything, although it was good. Another is when Spock fights Kirk for 1 and a half minutes, which was pointless and strange, because they develop a friendship later on.
Overall: A fantastic sci-fi action movie, with awesome action sequences, superb acting and characters, and brilliant special effects. Bad guy has no motivation, and some pointless action scenes, but I love this movie and a great way to start the summer. 9/10.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine Review

Thanks for reading my long-awaited X-Men Origins: Wolverine review.

The Good: Wolverine is my favorite X-Men character, and I love the backstory of his character. Wolverine has a brilliant backstory about how he got metal claws, his revenge, etc.

The action is amazingly good. This movie is action-packed with about 14 fantastic action scenes. I loved them.

Besides Wolverine, Wade Wilson/Deadpool was my favorite character in the movie. He was wisecracking, great with swords, and very entertaining to watch.

I love that Wolverine is going out for revenge.

This movie has a heart to it, so it makes you care for the good guys in this.

The Bad: The only bad thing is (surprisingly, a pretty big one) how Wolverine lost his memory. I don't want to give too much away, but you think the movie is over. Then, out of no where, Wolverine loses his memory, which has no point to it.

Overall: An action-packed, great, amazing, and fantastic movie. Easily the best of the X-Men series. Great story, better action sequences, and Wolverine is the key to the movie. Congratulations, Hugh Jackman, for bringing Wolverine into a great character. 9/10.
