MBJ's Top 10 Movies of the Year

Well, it's that time of year again. Say hello to my top 10 movies of 2008.

10. Kung Fu Panda
This was a surprising movie
for me, because I thought it
would be silly kids movie, but
I thought it was really funny,
and, to be honest, I thought the
action sequences were
better than a live-action film.

9. The Chronicles of Narnia:
Prince Caspian
Actually, to me this film was
disappointing, but the action
(especially in the last 20 minutes)
saved the movie. Disney sure
loves Narnia, and the last 20
minutes made me want to see
it again. I can't wait for the 3rd
Narnia!

8. Valkyrie
An important movie that is
a must-see for war fans.
This movie was important.
had a good message and heart,
and Tom Cruise gave the most
effort in this performance in his
career.

7.Eagle Eye
A very good action-thriller
movie with great twists,
acting, and action that made
this an exhilarating movie. Shia
LaBeouf is an excellent movie star.

6. Indiana Jones and the
Kingdom of the Crystal
Skull
This movie, in my opinion,
is the best Indiana Jones
movie. Great action,
story, and Harrison Ford
is one of my favorite actors.
Indiana Jones is back!

5. The Incredible Hulk
Better than the 2003
version, this packs up
the action, excitement,
and adventure to this
very good movie.
Summed up in one word,
INCREDIBLE!

4. Iron Man
This movie was amazing
and broke the rules
on superhero film making.
Iron Man is one of the most
believable superheroes
ever, and the action is
amazing!

3. Max Payne
Quite possibly the best
video-game movie
I have ever seen.
Great story, and even
better action, this movie
is a fun, exciting, and amazing
movie. Mark Wahlberg is
excellent as Max Payne.
2. Quantum of Solace
The best action sequences
in a James Bond movie ever.
It's a tie with Casino Royale,
but the action was amazing,
Daniel Craig is great, and
had a satisfying ending.
This movie is worth seeing
for just the action sequences.

1. The Dark Knight
This is my favorite movie
of all-time. Ever since July 18th,
this has been my favorite movie
ever. Saw it 3 times in theaters
and saw it 5 times on DVD.
This movie had intense, thrilling
action scenes, amazing story,
best villain ever, and just summed
up to my favorite movie of all-time.
Honorable Mentions:
Hancock
WALL-E
Journey to the Center of the Earth
The Spirit

Valkyrie Review

Thanks for checking my review of the movie, Valkyrie.

The Good: This movie is NOT an action movie. You might be expecting action, but you're not going to get much. What you'll see is an important true story about the operation to assassinate Hitler.

Tom Cruise is one of my favorite actors. He was breathtaking in this role. He took it seriously, and delivered an important character.

This movie about made me cry. The ending is one of the most the most unpredictable, sad, and bravest part of a drama/thriller I have ever seen.

I love the movie's message. It's a spoiler, so I won't give it away.

The Bad: This movie was quite boring at a few parts. You sort of yawn and wish they would've skipped this scene.

Overall: Valkyrie is an important, serious, and unpredictable movie. Tom Cruise was excellent, the story was phenomenal, and this is a movie that about made me cry. Maybe quite boring at some parts, but this is one of the most important movies you'll ever see. See this movie because it's important to know what bravery, justice, and freedom mean. 8.5/10.

The Spirit Review

Thanks for checking out my review of the Spirit.

The Good: The action of the film was cool and stylized. I loved the slow motion fight scenes, and the explosions.

This actor is really impressive as the Spirit. I think Gabriel Macht will be a fine actor in other movies.

The visuals with unique and beautiful. I loved the look of this movie.

The Bad: The dialogue was laughable and silly. These lines are so cheesy and fake, you lose touch with the movie's humor and visuals.

The acting was laughable (except Gabriel Macht). These actors seem to make their characters unmemorable.

The story is hard to get. You try to keep up with it, but they just keep twisting the plot and I didn't think the story was all that good.

Overall: I'm a little bit dissapointed. I liked the action and visuals in this movie, but they got beaten by the incomprehensible story and the dialogue. 7/10.

SEEING THREE MOVIES!

Best Christmas Ever

I will always remember Christmas 2008. This was easily the best Christmas ever. We had a before Christmas, Christmas, and are going to have an after Christmas. What I mean is that before Christmas, we got a new TV and a new computer. This Christmas I got...

Blu-Ray Player
The Dark Knight Blu-Ray
Hancock Blu-Ray
Ice Age Blu-Ray
(I got my mom Mamma Mia on Blu-Ray)
24 Seasons 4-6 (Now I have the whole collection.)
Certificate for a movie (Now I'm going to see three movies)
Guinness Book of World Records 2009
Now I'm going to have an after Christmas. I wonder what that is?
In case you're wondering, what is Blu-Ray? Well, just look here and here.

May See Transporter 3 Soon!

Hopefully, this Saturday! Here is my special 2-in-1 review edition of the first 2 Transporter movies.

Here is the trailer.

As from Terminator...

..."I'm back."

HA! Hi, folks. Sorry I've been gone so long. See, the rule in my family is "no A's, you're grounded." I fortunately got the grades up in time for winter break.

Now, on with the movies. I might see some movies soon.

They are... Transporter 3

The Spirit

The Day the Earth Stood Still IMAX

and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

I probably won't see all of them, but I will see at least 2.

I love you all! (Sorry, I'm just so excited!)
