Max Payne

I very anticipated to see Max Payne. It's going to be PG-13, everybody says. Even the filmmakers are going to film it as PG-13.

WALL-E Review

Here's my late review on WALL-E. Here's the review and synopsis.
"Disney and Pixar join forces for this computer-animated tale about a wide-eyed robot who travels to the deepest reaches of outer space in search of a newfound friend. The year is 2700, and planet Earth has long been uninhabitable. For hundreds of years, WALL-E (Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) has been taking out the trash, and collecting precious knick-knacks in order to stave off the boredom of his dreary routine. Little does WALL-E realize that he has recently stumbled onto a secret that could save planet Earth, and once again make the ravaged planet safe for all humankind. When highly advanced search robot EVE makes friends with WALL-E and realizes the value of his remarkable discovery, she excitedly races back to let the humans know that there's hope for their home planet after all. But after centuries alone in space, WALL-E can't stand the thought of losing the only friend he's ever known, and eagerly follows her into the deepest reaches of space on the adventure of a lifetime. Along the way, the friendly trash-collecting robot who has always known what he was made for gradually begins to understand what he was meant for. Finding Nemo director Andrew Stanton returns to the helm for this family-friendly sci-fi adventure featuring the voices of Fred Willard, Jeff Garlin, and Ben Burtt." (from www.Fandango.com)
The Good: The movie had a cute story behind it. I liked the sweet romance between EVE and WALL-E. They also score some laughs together.
The visuals are oustanding, as usual. PIXAR is one spectacular studio.
The humor is funny and memorable.
The Science Fiction genre fits this family movie.
The Bad: The movie drags on for too long. They could have cut some scenes out.
Here's the main problem. To me, this movie was overly-hyped. People were saying that this is the best movie of the year. I disagree. In fact, I thought Kung Fu Panda was a bit better.
Pour WALL-E always gets hurt and destroyed! WHY?
Overall: A fun, but overly-hyped, movie that's not QUITE as good as Kung Fu Panda. This movie was cute, but this movie is a bit overrated to me. 8/10.

Journey to the Center of the Earth 3-D Review

Sorry about the wasted post.

Anyway, here's my review. I saw it the same day I saw the Dark Knight. I saw this movie in 3-D. Here's the synopsis and review.

"Academy Award-winning visual effects artist Eric Brevig makes his feature directorial debut with this adaptation of the classic Jules Verne fantasy starring Brendan Fraser. When an ambitious science professor (Fraser) develops a decidedly unconventional hypothesis, the mere mention of his name is enough to elicit laughter within the academic community. However, during a subsequent excursion to Iceland, the professor and his nephew make a major scientific discovery that sends them miles beneath the surface of the Earth, where they discover not only strange new worlds, but also encounter creatures so alien they appear to be from another world entirely." (from moviefone.com)

The Good: The story is unique. It had an interesting plot and great plot turns.

The visuals were great. Not wonderful, but this is a great visual thrill-ride. Not Oscar-worthy, though, but good enough.

The action was good, but not in the 3-D. (See Below:)

The Bad: The 3-D literally made me throw up. After the first half, I took my glasses off and enjoyed the rest of it. I hated the 3-D. I would have enjoyed it more if it was in 2-D.

The acting was poor, in my opinion.

Overall: This movie was entertaining. If it was in 2-D, I would have thought it was a good movie. Poor acting, and horrible 3-D. Movie 7.5/10. 3-D 1/10.

The Dark Knight Review

Sorry I'm late, but I saw the Dark Knight the first day it opened, but here's the synopsis. "The follow-up to the action hit "Batman Begins,

"The Dark Knight" reunites director Christopher Nolan and star Christian Bale, who reprises the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne. In the new film, Batman raises the stakes in his war on crime. With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman sets out to dismantle the remaining criminal organizations that plague the city streets. The partnership proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a reign of chaos unleashed by a rising criminal mastermind known to the terrified citizens of Gotham as The Joker." Here's my review:

The Good: Before I walked into this, I was thinking of the raving reviews it got, mainly because of the late Heath Ledger. They said he deserves an Oscar. My dad and I thought it was out for sympathy, just because he died. When I saw his performance in this, here's what I thought. Not only is this the best performance he has ever given, but this is the single best performance in a comic book/superhero movie I have ever seen. Not out of sympathy, folks, but he was absolutely the most memorable movie characters I have ever seen. He definately deserves an Oscar.

The performances were great! Besides Heath Ledger, there were some other fantastic performances in this movie. Christian Bale, Aaron Eckhart, Gary Oldman, Maggie Gyllenghal, Michael Caine, and Morgan Freeman. They were amazing to watch!

The action has some of the best explosions and fight sequences I have ever seen! This action was much better than the first, because they didn't have a shaky camera. Best action probably EVER!

The director is probably one of my favorites, now. Christopher Nolan directed The Prestige (underrated thriller), Batman Begins, and this movie, The Dark Knight.
The Bad: It may be 2 and a half hours, but it's the best 2 and a half hours I have ever spent in a movie. Wait, that's not bad!
Overall: This is a fantastic, wonderful, amazing, and superb movie! Quite possibly the best movie ever. No exaggeration, Heath Ledger as the Joker deserves and Oscar, same for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Screenplay. Best Movie Ever! 10/10. (I'm going to be the Joker for Halloween!
